European Industry Day 2018, 22-23 February, Brussels (BE)

On 28 February 2017, the Commission organised the first European Industry Day. On that occasion, the EU key initiatives - with a strong industrial dimension - were presented and a debate on a future-oriented EU agenda for economic modernisation was launched. Building on the success of the conference and in the light of the adoption of a Renewed EU Industrial Policy Strategy, the second European Industry Day will take place on 22-23 February 2018.

The main objective of the event will be to collect your feedback on Commission's actions to support a smart and sustainable industry in Europe and, most importantly, to discuss the strategic areas that might require future actions. The conference will gather a broad variety of stakeholders:  industrial sectors, research and innovation, trade unions, public government and administration, innovators and civil society. It will be a unique occasion to showcase your activities, learn from each other, discuss cross-cutting issues and new tendencies and develop joint visions for the future.

The European Industry Day 2018 will consist of 3 parts. The first day will give floor to the workshops, seminars and other events organised by you, industrial stakeholders, following a call for interest to be published by the Commission around selected thematic areas. On 23rd of February the high-level conference with the participation of high level speakers and key-experts will take place. Finally, organisations, companies and public authorities across Europe will be able to submit proposals to organise local/regional/national events under the brand "European Industry Week". Both calls will be launched in the autumn.

More information on the conference and the call will be published soon on the dedicated webpage.
